Clients are members of the public who seek services from community organisations. Clients may also be referred to as:

customers
consumers
patients
service users.

The name given within each service or organisation can be influenced by a range of factors including adoption of political, corporate or academic language, historical changes in language or terminology, political correctness, funding agreements or professional or other relevant practice frameworks.
