Employment opportunity: Solicitor - Flood Legal Assistance Service

Townsville Community Law seeks to employ a full-time (35 hours per week) solicitor for our Flood Legal Assistance Service.

The successful applicant will provide legal assistance services across most issues relevant to the legal needs of people experiencing the 2019 Townsville flooding event. This is likely to include areas of law including insurance, employment, tenancy, social security, consumer protection, personal and real property (including securities held over property), credit and debt, and insolvency.

We also welcome expressions of interest from legal practitioners, community legal centres, or law firms in secondment opportunities for this position.

This is a fixed-term appointment until 30 June 2020. We are awaiting a funding announcement that may assist in extending the term of this position.
